Illumination at Maruyama Koen Park

趙 静

Maruyama Koen (円山公園) is the oldest park in Kyoto.

On the premises, there are many spots to see, such as statues of Sakamoto Ryoma (坂本龍馬) and Nakaoka Shintaro (中岡新太郎), both renowned patriots from the end of the Edo period, as well as the famous big Shidare zakura (枝垂れ桜, weeping cherry tree) which is also called as“Gion no Yozakura (祇園の夜桜, cherry tree of the Gion district at Night).

In the mystic light of illumination, the cherry blossom attracts so many visitors’ hearts.

The park will be very crowded during the cherry blossom season.
