From late February to mid March, a thousand and five hundred of plum trees will bloom at Kitano Tenmangu (北野天満宮)shrine, the most famous place for plum blossom viewing in Kyoto.
The shrine will be filled with beautiful plum flowers loved by Sir Michizane Sugawara (菅原道真公), the deity of the shrine.
