Shoren-in Temple is listed as No.4 in popularity among the spots in Kyoto for viewing flaming autumn leaves. In the premises, there are two gardens namely: 1) TSUKIYAMA SENSUI TEI, (a garden consists of an artificial hill and a pond) landscaped by Soami, and 2) KIRISHIMA NO NIWA by Kobori Enshu. Perfect place to visit to view the scenery of autumn leaves. At night, the site is illuminated. Its famous moss garden twinkles all over capturing all visiters’ hearts. Best season: mid-October - early December
