Despite the rain this morning, I visited Tentokuin temple with my colleague who was formerly a Maiko, to see Kikyo flowers (Chinese bellflowers). We were somewhat excited because we both wore summer Kimono.
Tentokuin is one of sub temples of Tofukuji temple which is very famous for its crimson foliage in autumn. However, in fact, it is known as the “Temple of Kikyo Flower”.
Its garden of KARESANSUI* style established in the Momoyama era, was filled with pretty purple flowers. The ground was covered by fresh green moss all moist and wet with the rain from this morning. The loveliness of deep purple color of Kikyo flowers was emphasized by the green moss.
I love the moments of admiring flowers in Kimono as such…There can be not much luxury to compare. I strongly recommend to visit there in YUMEYATAKA Kimono!
