From the end of May to the middle June, we have the season of roses. On this weekend, I went to the Kyoto Prefectural Botanical Garden in the Kitayama (北山) district, Kyoto.
The trees in the garden are so big and tall as if they are soaring to the sky, and there are roughly 1,300 roses of 270 breeds nurtured in the rose garden.
If the weather is nice, you can also see Mt. Hiei (比叡山) from the garden. Not like other popular sightseeing spots, the botanical garden is not quiet and very nice to enjoy your quiet and confortable time.
The Kamo River (鴨川) runs on the west side of the botanical garden, and it's a good choice to soak your feet in the fresh water to get rid of the harsh heat ('∀ `).
In the same area, at the opposite side of the garden across the street, the head office of "Kyoto Kitayama MALEBRACHE" which is famous for "Macha cookie", is located. After enjoying the flowers, what about a luxurious tea time? ♡
