Umeki of Nishihonganji Temple

How about your first dream of the year?

The auspicious dreams have been believed to be of Mt.Fuji, a hawk, and an egg plant since olden times. It has been said that Mt.Fuji is just like god. A hawk grabs a good luck, and an eggplant is “nasu (accomplish)” in Japanese.

For those who think it hard to see an auspicious thing in a dream, I recommend to

look at “umeki” at Nishihonganji Temple. It is the repairing method to reinforce rift and crack of wood by filling in chips of wood. You can find many umeki on the corridor of the Amitabha Hall.

I was able to find “Mt.Fji, a hawk and an egg plant” among them at last. I would recommend for you to go to see carpenters' fanciful and auspicious umeki

in kimono of YUMEYAKATA. I believe you will have a good year.
